A few words on my university, UAAR

Assalam o Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu

Currently I'm a student of BSCS at Pir Mehr Ali Shah University of Arid Agriculture. It is located in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. In the 1970s, the government of Punjab established an Agricultural College Rawalpindi for the development of rain fed agriculture. The college was upgraded to University in 1994. Currently UAAR offers degrees in Computer Sciences, Management Sciences, Pure Sciences, Agriculture and other Arts and Fine Arts programs.

The University teaches courses in four faculties, one division and two institutes (as well as joint programs with other institutions):

  • Faculty of Crop and Food Sciences
  • Faculty of Sciences
  • Faculty of Forestry, Range Management and Wildlife (with departments in Forestry and Range Management, Environmental Sciences and Wildlife Management
  • Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (with department in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Basic Science, Patho-Biology, Clinical Studies and Poultry Science)
  • Division of Continuing Education, Home Economics & Women Development
  • University Institute of Management Sciences
  • University Institute of Information Technology
Note: The purpose of this post is in fact to feed my newly born baby blog with its first "temporary" post so that I can play a bit with Google AdSense after the post appears on the page. Doing a PowerPoint presentation on Google right now for my management class tomorrow. The 1st "actual and permanent" post will of course be about "Them" before anything else appears on this blog.
